In this course, learners will receive an overview of what is known about the use of naltrexone for the treatment of opioid and/or alcohol use disorder in pregnant and postpartum patients, with a focus on pharmacokinetics and breast milk transfer. In addition, learners will receive an overview of the use of extended-release forms of buprenorphine for pregnant and postpartum individuals, as well as breast milk transfer of extended-release buprenorphine for those with opioid use disorder.
