William Morrone, DO, FAOAAM
William Morrone, DO, MPH, MS, FAOAAM, DABAM, FACOFP & DAAPM, is Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director at Recovery Pathways, investigator in a naloxone distribution for Mid-Michigan, Medical Director of 35th Circuit Shiawassee County Drug Court, Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine, Michigan State University for 23 years and was Program Director of Family Medicine at Synergy Medical Education Alliance and liaison in the Dept of Psychiatry.
Triple board certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine, American College of Osteopathic Family Practitioners & the American Academy of Pain Management. He has offered expert opinions in addiction, treatment and forensic toxicology for 20 years on CNN, HLN, FOX, Discovery and Court TV. Dr. Morrone authored the only book on Narcan (ISBN: 098922631X) in America and has done research on buprenorphine & naloxone in pregnancy. Dr. Morrone was a Ruth Fox faculty for the ASAM Medical-Scientific Conference Washington DC and is an active addiction educator and social advocate in SUD treatment and parity. Dr. Morrone was Director of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Court & commissioner on the Governor's Impaired Driving Commission 2017-2019; he was also Community Preceptor Johns Hopkins and SVSU School of Nursing. He drafted SUD treatment expansion law in 2015 with SAMSA ASPE Richard Frank under Sylvia Burwell/Obama.
Dr. Morrone has lead Child Death Reviews (CDR) and Opioid Fatality Reviews OFR) in many counties and has been a strong advocate for treatment in jails and prisons as well as post incarceration overdose prevention and re-entry after care 2019-2023.
