This presentation will provide an overview of a programmatic effort to develop and evaluate a novel prolonged exposure therapy protocol for improving therapy attendance and posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms among patients receiving medications for opioid use disorder (e.g., buprenorphine, methadone).

Dr. Peck is a licensed clinical psychologist and Assistant Research Professor with joint appointments in the Departments of Psychiatry and Psychological Sciences at University of Vermont. He is also the Director of Clinical Operations for the University of Vermont Center on Rural Addiction (UVM CORA) which is one of three national Rural Centers of Excellence on Substance Use Disorders. Dr. Peck completed his Ph.D. at the University of Mississippi where he trained as a clinical psychologist. During his postdoctoral training at the University of Vermont, he conducted research focused on the development and evaluation of novel treatments for opioid use disorder (OUD). He joined the University of Vermont Psychiatry faculty in 2019 and worked extensively to address co-occurring posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in individuals with OUD.
